The proposed Purple Line project from New Carrollton to Bethesda is planned to run along University Boulevard, just south of the Cool Spring Terrace neighborhood. A proposed station is at the intersection of Campus Drive and Adelphi Road.

On October 25, 2014, the CSTCA invited representatives from the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) to our bi-monthly meeting. At this meeting, the MTA presented an overview of the Purple Line light rail project with a focus on the University Boulevard station areas, project status update and Purple Line next steps.
