At the February 2014 meeting of the Cool Spring Civic Association, Senator Victor Ramirez presented the CSTCA with an official citation from the Maryland General Assembly to congratulate the CSTCA for our “hard work to protect and improve the quality of life for community members.”

Among the visitors at the meeting were members of the Chillum-Adelphi Volunteer Fire Department. The department’s Lieutenant Breen shared a number of important tips for keeping our homes and families safe from fire.

At the Holiday Potluck I spoke with Mr. John McGroarty from Councilman Campos office about a number of households from various parts of the Cool Spring neighborhood who have reported exorbitant bills from WSSC for water and sewer. Some of these quarterly bills have totaled over $1,000.

CSTCA Bi-Monthly Meeting SATURDAY, February 22, 2014, 11:00 AM-12:30 PM, at the Christian Science Society, Hyattsville 8300 Adelphi Road, Hyattsville 20783
The CSTCA Board has moved the Association’s bi-monthly meetings to the fourth Saturday of every other (even) month. We will also hold our meetings at the Christian Science Society, Hyattsville in the church’s classroom. The scheduled meeting dates for 2014 are: February 22, April 26, June 28, August 23, October 25, and December 27. Mark your calendars!! Our special guest at the February 22 meeting is 47th District Delegate Doyle Niemann. He currently serves on the House of Delegates’ Natural Resources, Environment, and Housing Subcommittees and is the committee’s point person on foreclosure and other real estate issues. He is a candidate for the Prince George’s County Council District 2. Mr. Niemann will share the latest news from Annapolis and the dormant (but not gone) UMD Golf Course development issue.
