For a second year, we will partner with the Anacostia Watershed Society and pull trash from the trail, banks and waters of the Northwestern Branch that flows into the Anacostia river and Chesapeake Bay. Once again, we are lucky to have many children from Cool Spring Elementary School helping us clean up the stream along the Northwest Branch Trail at the Adelphi Mill. Danielle Spisak, who teaches there, is bringing them to join our effort. Let’s not have the kids outnumber the adults this year!
Please register to join our Earth Day stream cleanup on Saturday, April 20, from 9 to 11 a.m., at http://www.anacostiaws.org/earthday2013. When you get to the the Preferred Volunteer Location field, be sure to select Adelphi Mill.
As you can see from these pictures, we had a lot of fun on a beautiful sunny day last time. Hope you can join us this year!
