Our second annual CSTCA Block Party, held on Aug. 25, 2012, was a huge success!!! Our diverse community came out for fun to music by Jorge at 26th Place and Rambler Drive. Children played together at the soccer clinic by Oscar, won prizes, and had their faces painted by Carol. Adults brought their favorite foods to share, as they caught up with neighbors and made new friends.

Everyone loved the food, special dishes, popcorn, and — most of all — the cupcakes made by Jennifer Maragh. Nae Pearson provided chair massages all day long, and Alex had a ton of fun with the hula hoops! Thank you to all the volunteers who made this happen, especially Nancy Santiago and Marguerite Mickens-Mosely, the event chairs. Our State and Local politicians stopped by, along with the County Police and the Chillum-Adelphi Fire Department.

A very special thanks to all the neighbors from Rambler Drive: Mr. and Mrs. Jackson; Mr. and Mrs. Cenac; Mrs. Walker; Mrs. Drake; and Oscar, John, and Kathleen Green for the great chicken curry. It was yummy!!!

The food was excellent, the games were fun, and the weather held out for us… it was the perfect way to end the summer.
